TZM alloy (superalloy) is a solid solution hardened and particle reinforced molybdenum base alloy. The development of a molybdenum titanium solid solution and excellent dispersion of titanium carbide for good strength properties at temperatures up to 1400 ° C.

TZM molybdenum alloy sintering is mainly hydrogen protection sintering and vacuum sintering, in the process of hydrogen protection sintering, due to the reduction of hydrogen, molybdenum powder oxides will be reduced by hydrogen, so that the oxygen content in the material is reduced to dozens of μg/g below.
TZM alloy preparation methods commonly used arc melting - casting method and powder metallurgy method. Arc melting casting method is to melt pure molybdenum with an arc and add a certain amount of alloy elements such as Ti and Zr according to the weight percentage, and then TZM alloy is obtained by conventional casting method.
The principle of powder metallurgy is to use high purity molybdenum powder and THi2 powder, ZrH2 powder and graphite powder evenly mixed in proportion after cold isostatic pressing forming, and then sintered at high temperature in a protective atmosphere to obtain TZM billet. The billet is then hot rolled at high temperature (high temperature forging), annealing at high temperature, hot rolled at medium temperature (medium temperature forging), annealing at medium temperature for stress relief, and then warm rolling (warm forging) to get TZM finished material. The rolling (forging) process and the subsequent heat treatment of the billet have a great influence on the properties, anisotropy and texture of the material.
TZM alloy is usually prepared into TZM alloy rods and TZM alloy plates. Powder metallurgy method can save the vacuum consumable electric arc furnace, large extrusion press and forging hammer and the corresponding high temperature heating furnace and other large equipment, so that the process is simplified, the production cycle is shortened, the consumption is reduced, the production capacity and the yield can be improved, so the cost is greatly reduced.
