Molybdenum cups are widely used in high temperature furnaces, especially in the fields of high temperature material processing, crystal growth, smelting and heat treatment. Molybdenum, as a material with excellent high temperature properties, is often used in environments that require operation at high temperatures, vacuums or inert atmospheres. Molybdenum cup in these processes, mainly play its good high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, the following are several typical applications of molybdenum cup in high temperature furnace.

1. High temperature melting and molten metal treatment
Molybdenum cups are often used in high-temperature furnaces to treat metal materials, especially those with high melting points that need to be treated at high temperatures (such as aluminum, copper, iron, etc.). The high temperature resistance of the molybdenum cup enables it to work stably at temperatures above 2500°C, so during the melting process, it can withstand the high temperature of the molten metal without melting or deformation. In addition, molybdenum cups have good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance, which can effectively avoid oxidation and chemical reactions in high temperature environments and protect the purity of molten metal.

2. Single crystal growth
Molybdenum cups also have important applications in single crystal growth (such as monocrystalline silicon, monocrystalline quartz, etc.). In the process of single crystal growth, especially when using the melting method or chemical vapor deposition method, it needs to be carried out at extremely high temperatures and in a vacuum or a specific atmosphere. Molybdenum cups provide a stable container for molten or heated materials in this process. Molybdenum cups can withstand higher temperature changes, and can maintain better shape and stability to avoid deformation or damage due to high temperature.

3. Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) in high temperature furnaces
Molybdenum cups are commonly used in the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process, especially in the deposition of thin films or coatings at high temperatures. In the CVD process, the reaction gas is broken down by heat to form a film or coating, which needs to be carried out at a specific temperature. Molybdenum cups are used as reaction vessels in CVD reactions to withstand extremely high temperatures and high-pressure environments generated by chemical reactions to ensure that the reactants can be uniformly deposited.

4. Annealing and heat treatment
Molybdenum cups are used in high temperature furnaces for annealing and heat treatment of metals, alloys and other materials. The annealing process typically involves heating a material to a specific temperature at high temperatures and holding it for a period of time to remove internal stresses, improve the grain structure of the material, or bring it to the desired physical properties. Molybdenum cup because of its high temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, can provide a stable environment for the material in the annealing or heat treatment process, to prevent the material from being polluted by the external atmosphere.

5. Optical and electronic material handling
Molybdenum cups also play a key role when processing optical or electronic materials at high temperatures. For example, in semiconductor manufacturing, molybdenum cups can be used to melt, process or transport semiconductor materials such as silicon, gallium arsenide, etc. In addition, in the production process of optical coatings, molybdenum cups can be used as reaction vessels for the treatment of materials that are sensitive to high temperatures and easily oxidized.

6. Vacuum or inert atmosphere
Because molybdenum has excellent vacuum resistance and the ability to resist inert atmosphere, it can work stably in vacuum or nitrogen, argon and other inert atmosphere. Many high temperature experiments and material handling in high temperature furnaces often need to be carried out in this controlled atmosphere to prevent oxygen in the air from reacting with the material. Molybdenum cups can remain stable in these special atmospheres to avoid contamination and oxidation of the material.
