The processing of molybdenum foils into molybdenum discs usually requires a series of mechanical processing and precision processes to ensure the quality and performance of the final product. Here are the brief steps of the manufacturing process:

Molybdenum foil preparation: First, molybdenum foil is usually made of high purity molybdenum metal through rolling, cooling and cutting processes made of thin sheets. The thickness of the molybdenum foil is generally thin, usually between a few hundred microns and a few millimeters, depending on the purpose and specification of the final molybdenum wafer required.

Cutting: molybdenum foil is cut into rectangles or other shapes of appropriate size as the basis for making wafer. Use high-precision cutting equipment, such as laser cutting, flame cutting or mechanical cutting, to ensure the accuracy of the cutting and smooth edges.

Stamping forming: Next, the cut molybdenum foil is further processed into a round shape using a stamping die. In this process, the pressure and temperature need to be controlled to avoid cracks or deformation of molybdenum materials during the forming process. Molybdenum has high strength and brittleness, so special attention needs to be paid to the distribution of stress and the control of the processing environment when forming.

Precision machining: For molybdenum discs requiring high precision, it may also be necessary to remove edge burrs and ensure that the size and surface quality of the disc meet the design requirements through precision processing technology such as milling, turning or grinding.

Heat treatment: Molybdenum discs usually need to undergo heat treatment processes such as annealing to remove the internal stress generated during processing, and improve its physical properties to enhance its toughness and crack resistance.

Surface treatment: Finally, in order to improve the corrosion resistance and surface quality of molybdenum wafer, surface polishing, oxidation treatment or coating treatment can be carried out to adapt to the requirements of different applications.

Mosten Alloy can produce molybdenum sheet, molybdenum block, molybdenum foil, molybdenum rod, molybdenum wire, molybdenum cup, molybdenum processing workpiece according to customer demand.
