The application of molybdenum foil in the lighting market is mainly concentrated in the manufacture of high temperature and high efficiency lighting equipment, especially in incandescent bulbs, gas discharge lamps and some special types of high power lamps. Its unique physical properties make it an ideal material for maintaining stable electrical properties and structural strength in high-temperature environments. Specific applications are as follows:

1. Incandescent bulbs and halogen bulbs
One of the most common applications of molybdenum strip is as a filament support material for incandescent and halogen bulbs. The filament in incandescent and halogen bulbs usually needs to withstand high temperatures, the high melting point of molybdenum foil (about 2623°C) and good thermal stability, allowing it to maintain a stable structure in these extreme environments and improve the life of the bulb.

Incandescent bulbs: In traditional incandescent bulbs, molybdenum foil is used as part of the filament and is usually used in the filament support structure to help the filament heat evenly and provide the necessary electrical conductivity.

Halogen bulbs: Molybdenum strip plays a similar role in halogen bulbs and is also used to support the filament. Halogen bulbs have high temperatures and strong chemical reactivity, and the high temperature and corrosion resistance of molybdenum foils are ideal for this application.

2. High-pressure gas discharge lamp
Molybdenum foil is also used in the manufacture of some high-pressure gas discharge lamps (such as metal halide lamps, xenon lamps, etc.). Because these lamps need to withstand high voltages and temperatures, molybdenum foil is used as a sealing material for electrodes, supporting frames or bulbs, ensuring smooth current flow and preventing overheating.

3. Fluorescent lamp and gas discharge light source
In fluorescent lamps and gas discharge sources, moly foils are used to manufacture the parts connected to the lamp or electrode. The high temperature resistance and electrical conductivity of molybdenum foil enable it to effectively support electrodes and improve energy efficiency during the operation of these lamps.

4. Metal halide lamp and HID lamp (high intensity gas discharge lamp)
Mo foil is used to make electrodes and electrode wires in metal halide lamps (MH) and HID lamps, which are used in street lighting, stadiums, shopping malls and other places that need to withstand higher currents and temperatures. Molybdenum foil's corrosion resistance and high temperature properties make it an indispensable material in these high-power lamps.

5. LED and laser lamps
Although molybdenum foil is more common in traditional lighting equipment, it is also used in some high-performance LED and laser lamps, mainly for temperature control components or mirror support materials. The thermal conductivity and thermal expansion resistance of molybdenum foil are essential for the cooling systems of high power leds and laser appliances.

Mosten Alloy can produce molybdenum sheet, molybdenum block, molybdenum foil, molybdenum rod, molybdenum wire, molybdenum processing workpiece according to customer demand.
