Molybdenum wafers have important applications in the photovoltaic industry, especially in the manufacture of thin film solar cells. With the increase in global demand for renewable energy, the photovoltaic industry has developed rapidly, and molybdenum wafer has become an indispensable material in the field because of its excellent physical and chemical properties.

First, molybdenum wafers are particularly widely used in copper indium gallium selenium (CIGS) and copper indium selenium (CIS) thin film solar cells. CIGS and CIS cells are an important part of the PV market due to their high efficiency and low cost. Molybdenum discs play a key role as the back electrode material for these batteries. Molybdenum has good electrical conductivity and low resistivity, which can effectively improve the charge collection efficiency of the battery. In addition, the high reflectivity and good adhesion of molybdenum contribute to the deposition of the film layer and the overall stability of the battery. Molybdenum back electrode can not only provide good conductivity, but also effectively reflect the unabsorbed light and improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency.

Secondly, the application of molybdenum wafer in organic photovoltaic (OPV) and perovskite solar cells has gradually received attention. Perovskite batteries have attracted much attention in recent years because of their high conversion efficiency and low manufacturing cost. As an electrode material, molybdenum wafer can remain stable at high temperatures and does not react adversely with perovskite materials, thereby improving the performance and life of the battery.

Molybdenum discs are also used in the production of silicon-based thin-film solar cells. Although crystalline silicon solar cells dominate the market, silicon-based thin-film cells are gradually gaining market recognition because of their high material utilization and low manufacturing costs. The application of molybdenum wafer in silicon-based thin film battery is mainly used as the back electrode material of transparent conductive oxide (TCO) layer to ensure the stability and conductivity of the battery during high temperature deposition.

In addition, the application of molybdenum discs in photovoltaic equipment is also reflected in high temperature furnaces and sputtering equipment. Molybdenum disc is used as sputtering target material and is widely used in the manufacturing process of various thin film solar cells. Its excellent high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance ensure the purity of the material and the quality of the film during sputtering. At the same time, the application of molybdenum disc in high temperature furnace can maintain its mechanical strength and chemical stability under high temperature conditions, extend the service life of equipment and reduce maintenance costs.

In short, the application of molybdenum wafer in the photovoltaic industry has greatly promoted the technological progress and industrial development of thin film solar cells. Its excellent electrical conductivity, high temperature stability and corrosion resistance guarantee the high efficiency and long life of photovoltaic equipment. With the continuous progress of photovoltaic technology, the application prospect of molybdenum wafer in this field will be broader, and contribute an important force to the development of global renewable energy.
