TZM molybdenum alloy refers to the molybdenum alloy containing titanium 0.4~0.6%(wt), zirconium 0.08~0.12%(wt) and carbon 0. 02~ 0. 03%(wt), also known as molybdenum titanium zirconium alloy. Both titanium and zirconium play the role of solid solution strengthening and carbide dispersion strengthening in the alloy, and the composite titanium-zirconium carbide is more stable at high temperature than the single titanium carbide, so TZM molybdenum alloy has better high temperature strength and higher recrystallization temperature.

TZM molybdenum alloy has better high temperature strength and higher recrystallization temperature. Meanwhile, TZM molybdenum alloy has better plasticity at room temperature. TZM molybdenum alloy has excellent comprehensive properties and is widely used in high temperature molybdenum alloy.

The preparation method of TZM molybdenum alloy is the same as that of molybdenum titanium alloy, that is, the two methods are ingot after smelting and ingot after powder sintering, but the processing is slightly more difficult than that of molybdenum titanium alloy.

TZM molybdenum alloy is mainly used in high temperature components in aerospace technology, such as rocket nozzle throat lining, flight rudder splints, etc. TZM alloy is also widely used for temperature; 1000℃ metal hot working mold, such as die casting, extrusion mold, etc.

TZM alloy has the characteristics of high melting point, high strength, high elastic modulus, low linear expansion coefficient, low vapor pressure, good conductivity and thermal conductivity, strong corrosion resistance and good high temperature mechanical properties, so it is widely used in many fields.
