Application of molybdenum foil in preparation of 1T 'Mote2 nano-thin films

Transition metal thiolides are a class of materials with similar composition, whose chemical formula is MX2, where M is a transition metal element (e.g., molybdenum,tungsten, etc.) and X is a chalcogenide element (e.g.,S,Se, or Te). Transition metal thiolides (TMDs) are a group of layered materials with strong in-plane interactions and weak in-plane interactions. Therefore, the TMDs material can be stripped into a single layer thickness by mechanical stripping method. Each TMDs layer is composed of three layers of atoms, in which the transition metal atom is sandwiched between two sulfur atoms to form a kind of sandwich structure. Transition metal thiolides have attracted the interest of researchers due to their abundant physical properties and wide range of potential applications. At present most of the related research is focused on the semiconductor properties of transition metal sulfur compound (for example: molybdenum disulfide), a recent study found that 1 t MoTe2 with weir half metal and insulation properties such as quantum spin hall and the superconducting properties when it is at 0.1 K, because it has the nature of these interesting and attracting the interest of the researchers.
