The red phosphor is the phosphor with micron scale excited by near ultraviolet and blue light. Its chemical formula is Sr(1-X)EuxLiAl3N4, where 0.004x0.01.

The characteristics of small size red phosphors are that the average particle size of submicron phosphors is 1.1μm, and 90% of its particle size is distributed between 0.6 and 1.4μm, with good dispersion, good brightness, and external quantum efficiency up to 50%.

Preparation method:

1) According to the stoichiometric ratio of Sr(1-X)EuxLiAl3N4, the bulk metals Sr, Al and Eu are taken and weighed. The bulk metals obtained are sealed in a sealed bag and then transferred to a vacuum arc melting furnace for melting under argon atmosphere to obtain metal alloy blocks.

2) The alloy block is pulverized and fully ground to obtain the alloy powder;

According to the stoichiometric ratio of Li element in Sr(1-X)EuxLiAl3N4, the excess lithium powder was weighed.

2) The lithium powder was added to the alloy powder, ground and mixed evenly, and the alloy powder was transferred to the molybdenum crucible. Why use a molybdenum crucible? Because molybdenum crucibles are perfect containers for working at high temperatures. Due to the need to calcination powder in the temperature of 1000 ~ 1050℃. Other materials are not preferred. The molybdenum crucible containing the mixed powder was transferred into the air pressure sintering furnace with a sealed bag. The crucible was calcined at the temperature of 1000 ~ 1050℃ for 5 ~ 6 hours. The red phosphor with small particle size was prepared by grinding after the furnace was cooled to room temperature.
