W30Mo70 tungsten molybdenum alloy material properties
The tungsten-molybdenum alloy has the common characteristics of tungsten and molybdenum metals, and has good high temperature stability, electrical resistivity and good processing properties under the protection of vacuum or inert gas. It has been proved by experiments that the alloy of 30% tungsten and 70% molybdenum has a unique corrosion resistance to liquid zinc.
Tungsten-molybdenum alloys have excellent corrosion resistance to liquid zinc and are used in the manufacture of agitators, piping and container linings and other components in the zinc smelting industry. Since tungsten-molybdenum alloy has good high temperature strength, similar properties and smaller specific gravity than tungsten, it can be used as high temperature components in rockets and missiles, filaments of electron tubes, parts and other high temperature materials under the corresponding high temperature conditions. Because it is more economical than tungsten, tungsten and molybdenum alloy products are also used in sapphire furnaces.
