With the unprecedented development of the national economy, molybdenum and its alloys have been applied to the fields of electronics, machinery, aviation, military and so on in various forms. Molybdenum plate is one of the most widely used varieties. According to the thickness and use of molybdenum plate, the technical requirements put forward for it have different emphasis, but they still have their common characteristics.

(1) High dimensional accuracy is required. Because it not only affects the performance, but also is the difficulty in production; in addition, the thickness deviation has a great impact on the effective utilization of metal.

(2) Good shape. The shape of the plate should be flat, without wave shape, so that it can be used easily.

(3) The surface quality is good. Plate and strip is a kind of raw material with the largest surface area per unit volume, and is often used as peripheral components, so the surface quality must be guaranteed.

(4) Good performance. The properties of plate and strip mainly include mechanical properties, technological properties and some special physical or chemical properties. Different uses require different processing technology of plates, and also have certain strength and toughness.

At present, powder metallurgy has been used instead of smelting method in molybdenum plate production, but the slab opening process still uses the traditional plate processing technology. Due to the high heating temperature of traditional process, the process is difficult to control, and many waste products (such as deviation, splitting, delamination, strength reduction, etc.) often appear. Therefore, according to the characteristics of powder metallurgy sintering slab, it is very necessary to find out the appropriate blooming process for powder metallurgy slab.

The blooming process is the first process in the plate production process. This process not only needs to complete the geometric shape change, but also completes the transformation from sintering state to processing state, so as to change the mechanical properties and technological properties of the slab, and lay a good foundation for subsequent processing. Reasonable deformation temperature, deformation speed, deformation degree and the appropriate combination of the three have important practical and long-term significance for increasing production, improving quality, energy conservation and environmental protection.
