A niobium alloy is formed by adding a certain amount of tantalum and tungsten based on niobium. This kind of alloy has high tensile strength at high temperature and creep deformation resistance, so it has important application in spacecraft. This kind of alloy is formed by adding tantalum and tungsten into niobium to form a typical Nb-10W-10Ta alloy. In order to make full use of the characteristics of easy processing of solution strengthened alloy, the content of solid solution elements can be further added to obtain Nb-15W-20Ta-15Mo alloy. In order to further improve the high temperature strength and creep resistance of Nb-Ta-W alloy, a small amount of active element zirconium was added to Nb-Ta-W system alloy to form dispersed ZrO2 and ZrC particles with oxygen and carbon in the matrix. Thus, the dispersion strengthened Nb-10W-28Ta-1Zr alloy was obtained. This kind of alloy is usually prepared by electron beam melting and vacuum arc melting. With conventional plastic processing technology, plates, strips, rods, wires and forgings can be made, which can be used for nuclear reactor components, spacecraft, high-performance jet engine turbine blades, missile parts, etc.
