Silver Tungsten Alloy
A silver alloy consisting of silver and tungsten. Silver and tungsten are immiscible in both liquid and solid state. Silver tungsten alloy can only be made into sintered materials by powder metallurgy or extrusion. Ag-W alloy is characterized by high hardness, resistance to arc erosion, strong adhesion and fusion welding ability, and poor ductility.
Silver tungsten alloy is mostly used as low-voltage power switch, lifting switch, locomotive switch and other large current, heavy load controller and circuit breaker. In AC contactor, AGW (50-60) can withstand 200-400a current; AGW (60-70) can withstand 400-1000a current. In addition, silver tungsten alloy is widely used in DC contactor. Silver tungsten alloy is widely used in air switch of 100-250a. In addition, silver tungsten carbide alloy is also widely used in various heavy load electrical appliances.
