The conventional method of producing molybdenum strips or sheets from metal powders consists of first preparing the slab. This is achieved by compaction processes such as cold isostatic pressing, vacuum hot pressing, or molding. The resulting molybdenum slab of approximately 1.0 "to 4.0" thickness is then sintered at temperatures ranging from 1400 ºC to 2300 ºC and subsequently hot-rolled to approximately 0.4 "to 0.6" thickness at 1100 ºC to 1400 ºC. The molybdenum sheet was then annealed at a temperature above the recrystallization temperature of the material and hot-rolled again at a slightly lower temperature (1000 ° C to 1250 ° C) to a thickness of nearly 0.050 ". Several intermediate chemical etching and cleaning steps were performed to remove embedded iron particles and surface oxides from the previous hot rolling operation. The rolling is then carried out at moderate processing temperatures in the range of 200 ºC to 500 ºC (lower temperatures are used as the material is progressively processed to thinner specifications). Molybdenum foils can be cold-worked by intermediate stress relief annealing at room temperature after the mesothermal processing temperature is reduced by about 50%.

We can produce high quality molybdenum foil and molybdenum sheet according to customer's requirement.
