Tungsten powder particle refers to tungsten powder after sintering to form a rod and other tungsten block, and then after crushing to form tungsten powder particles. Tungsten particles are distinguished by mesh number. Tungsten powder particles are used as catalysts for alloy powder.

Three kinds of tungsten particles with average particle size of 0.2, 0.5 and 1μm were selected, and any two kinds of tungsten particles were mixed at a certain mass ratio and co-fired with alumina ceramics to obtain the metallization layer of alumina ceramics. The influence of tungsten particle size on the metallization resistance of alumina ceramics was studied.

The results show that the square resistance of tungsten metallized layer is directly related to the densification degree of sintering. The densification of tungsten metallized layer is, the lower the square resistance of tungsten metallized layer is. The metallization resistance is higher when tungsten powder particles of one of the particle sizes are co-fired with alumina ceramic.

The square resistance can be significantly reduced by mixing 0.5μm and 1μm tungsten powder particles. When the mass ratio of 0.5μm and 1μm tungsten powder is 45:55, the square resistance of metallization is the least. The cumulative distribution curve of the mixed tungsten powder is in accordance with the Dinger-Funk formula. The closer the distribution modulus N is to 0.37, the higher the sintering densification degree and the lower the metallization resistance.
