Construction of China's first test line for a low-vacuum tube maglev high-speed vehicle with a speed of 1,000 kilometers per hour has begun in Datong, Shanxi Province. It uses superconducting magnetic levitation technology to discontact with the ground to eliminate frictional resistance, and uses internal pipeline lines close to vacuum to greatly reduce air resistance, so as to achieve "near-earth flight" of more than 1,000 km/h. You know, now passenger planes generally travel at 900 km/h.

China will lead the world in the field of rail transit due to the implementation of the high-speed flying car project, which is naturally inseparable from the application of important industrial raw materials molybdenum and tungsten, the "industrial salt".

Lubricants used in carbon sliders of maglev trains are usually ultrafine powders of tungsten disulfide (WS2) and molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), which have similar layered structures. The interlayer is bonded by covalent bonds, and the interlayer is bonded by van der Waals forces. The friction coefficient of the material is low because of the easy peeling between layers. The dynamic friction coefficient of WS2 is 0.030, and the static friction coefficient is 0.070. The friction coefficient of MoS2 is between 0.05 and 0.09.However, the two components are different, so other aspects of physical and chemical properties are different, the former melting point, heat resistance and lubrication will be higher than the latter, more suitable for use in the harsh working environment of the friction parts.

Alloy steel for maglev train brake disc, comprising tungsten and molybdenum materials. The results show that tungsten is one of the important additives in alloy steel, and the content of tungsten is less than 0.01%, which can improve the creep force and thermal strengthening of steel at high temperature. Molybdenum is one of the main components of alloy steel with content between 0.34~0.41%, which can improve the hardenability, thermal strength and creep strength of the steel. Alloy steel brake disc has high mechanical strength and thermal fatigue resistance, but also has good thermal crack resistance, stable friction performance and good heat dissipation characteristics.

Special-shaped cemented carbide for maglev train body. It includes floor, the floor has two symmetrical vertical plate, vertical plate at one end there are tilted plate, inclined plate surface near the end, open the chute, pay attention to the floor, vertical plate and the outer surface of the inclined plate paste a protective unit, and the protection unit is composed of sunscreen, waterproof and anti-corrosion layer from inside to outside, in turn, paste form. Cemented carbide is a kind of tungsten carbide powder as the hard phase, cobalt, nickel, copper, iron as the soft phase of the alloy, with high hardness, good toughness, wear resistance, heat resistance, excellent corrosion resistance and other characteristics.

High speed vehicle in addition to the above parts need to use tungsten molybdenum products, brake pieces, bolts, nuts, resistance temperature sensors and other parts are inseparable from the use of tungsten molybdenum materials.

In March 2021, the climate index of China's tungsten and molybdenum industry was 41.9, up 4.3 points month-on-month and operating within the "normal" range. The leading composite index was 69.6, rising continuously. From January to February this year, domestic output of tungsten concentrate reached 18,000 tons, up 29.5% year on year. Molybdenum concentrate output was 33,000 tons, up 0.6% year on year.
