TZM alloy is the most widely used molybdenum alloy because of its excellent high temperature strength and comprehensive properties. In the United States, TZM alloy is used to make turbine discs of engines, and molybdenum accounts for 15% of the total molybdenum consumption. China's production of molybdenum materials including TZM molybdenum alloy has no less than 22 brands, in the early 1990s, China's production of molybdenum and molybdenum products has nearly 200 tons.

The high temperature mechanical properties of TZM and TZC molybdenum alloys are better than that of pure molybdenum alloys. They are widely used in the manufacture of high temperature workpieces, molds and various structural parts. As early as the 20th century in China, they have been successfully made into thermal perforated ends of various seamless steel tubes. This kind of sintered molybdenum head manufactured by pulverizing technology reduces the raw material consumption (50% of that in the as-cast state) and prolongs the average service life by 1.5~2 times.

The seamless tube made of molybdenum-rhenium alloy (containing 50%Re) has excellent high temperature performance and can be used at the temperature close to its melting point. It can be used as the bracket, ring, gate and other parts of the thermocouple sleeve and the cathode of the electron tube.

Molybdenum and molybdenum alloy has the high temperature strength, good conductivity, thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion coefficient (similar to electronic work glass), also has the advantages of easy processing tungsten, so using conventional processing methods of production of molybdenum plates, molybdenum, molybdenum foils, molybdenum tube, molybdenum rods, molybdenum wire and section in the tube (gate and anode), electric light source parts (supporting materials),Metalworking tools (die casting and extrusion die, forging die, perforated head, liquid metal filter screen) and turbine disc are widely used in components.
