Effect of molybdenum foil processing technology on its deep drawing properties

With the development of industry, molybdenum foil is widely used in deep processing. But molybdenum has high hardness and poor plasticity, so it is quite difficult to make molybdenum into deep processing products. Therefore, the deep drawing properties of molybdenum foil were studied.

Molybdenum foil samples are prepared by hot rolling and cold rolling the blank to δ =0.2mm on a universal rolling mill, and then transferred to a 20-high rolling mill for foil rolling tests.

In order to improve the deep drawing performance of molybdenum foil, we have done a series of explorations on the processing technology of molybdenum foil. ① The plastic strain ratio, tensile strength, yield strength and elongation of molybdenum foil were measured when the tensile shaft and the rolling direction were 0°, 45° and 90°. ② With the increase of processing rate before annealing, the tensile strength, yield strength and deep punching value of molybdenum foil also increase, so as to select the appropriate processing rate. ③ The microstructure characteristics of molybdenum foil were observed under a microscope at different annealing temperatures to determine the appropriate annealing temperature. And finally, we're still working on the X-ray diffractometer. The texture of molybdenum foil was analyzed.

1) The Angle between the direction of drawing shaft and the direction of rolling is different, which has a certain influence on the deep drawing property of molybdenum foil.

2) Processing rate has a great effect on molybdenum foils formability, through the test finally concluded that processing rate of about 70% deep drawing performance is the best.

3) Annealing temperature has great influence on the microstructure of molybdenum foil, and 800°C annealing can improve the deep drawing property of molybdenum foil.
