Separation of tungsten and molybdenum

The molybdenum content of tungsten products is very strict, because the existence of molybdenum will seriously affect its performance. Limit its application scope. The chemical properties of tungsten and molybdenum are very similar, so it is very difficult to separate tungsten from molybdenum. For a long time, scholars at home and abroad have done a lot of research on the separation of tungsten and aluminum. The selective precipitation method invented by Chinese scholars is the most common method for removing molybdenum in the process of Tungsten Hydrometallurgy. It has the advantages of good molybdenum removal depth and simultaneous removal of arsenic, antimony, tin and other impurities.

Firstly, the morphology of Mo was transformed from MoO42 to MoS42, and then the new phase cus particles were used to adsorb and co precipitate MoS42, so that Mo entered the slag phase and separated from tungsten in the solution.

Expensive copper containing reagents are used in the process of molybdenum removal. One of the main characteristics of tungsten resources in China is that there are more associated minerals, and the molybdenum content of low-grade tungsten ores is generally high. Therefore, the cost of molybdenum removal must be considered in the process of processing low-grade ores.
