In order to improve the yield of molybdenum wire and reduce wire breakage, the quality of raw materials should be improved firstly, and then the drawing process should be standardized and stabilized:

(1) Molybdenum powder quality. First of all, it is necessary to ensure that the composition is qualified, and the impurity elements should be as low as possible, so as to achieve as high purity as possible. Secondly, the particle size and bulk density should be appropriate to ensure that the density, hardness, grain number and other physical indicators of sintered metal molybdenum bar are qualified;

(2) Increase the weight of molybdenum powder and reduce the number of times to stabilize the sintering and drawing process. At the same time, it can dilute impurity elements in molybdenum powder and reduce its percentage content;

(3) It is necessary to extend the mixing time of molybdenum powder to achieve the full homogenization of molybdenum powder, especially the uniform distribution of impurity elements. When the conditions permit, inert gas protection of molybdenum powder mixing is implemented.

(4) The sintering process should be improved to achieve the maximum volatilization of impurity elements and ensure that the physical indexes of the sintered bar are qualified. The following two points should be achieved:

The temperature and holding time of the most active section of sintering reaction are determined correctly, which can meet the requirements of thermodynamics and kinetics of sintering process;

According to the grain size and bulk density of molybdenum powder, the temperature and holding time of high temperature section are adjusted accordingly to ensure that the density, hardness and grain size of sintered rod reach the optimal value.

(5) Correctly determine and control the drawing heating temperature and drawing speed to avoid long high temperature time and repeated heating;

(6) The annealing temperature should be selected correctly and the corresponding annealing process should be formulated to achieve uniform annealing of molybdenum wire.
