The melting point of tungsten is 3410 ℃, the boiling point is about 5900 ℃, and the thermal conductivity is 174 w / m · K at 10-100 ℃. At high temperature, the evaporation rate is slow and the coefficient of thermal expansion is very small. The coefficient of expansion is 4.5 × 10-6 · k-1 at 0-100 ℃.

The specific resistance of tungsten is about three times higher than that of copper. The resistivity is 10-8 ohm · m at 20 ℃.

Tungsten has high hardness, high density (19.25g/cm3), good high temperature strength and good electron emission performance.

The mechanical properties of tungsten are mainly determined by its pressure processing state and heat treatment process. Tungsten cannot be processed by pressure in cold state. Forging, rolling and drawing should be carried out in hot state.

Tungsten is stable in air at room temperature. Tungsten begins to oxidize obviously at 400-500 ℃, forming a blue black dense W03 surface protection film.

Tungsten is not easily eroded by acid, alkali and aqua regia at room temperature, but it is dissolved in the mixture of hydrofluoric acid and aqua regia.
